CAN YOU BEAT THE MEDALLIST?

Hosted by Double Olympians and Medallists.

Whatever level you’ve played hockey at, his unique experience is for you and friends.

Hosted on the day by Double Olympians Shona McCallin MBE and David Ames, you will be part of an experience that lasts 75 minutes on the hockey field with all equipment provided. With a total of 4 Olympics under their belts, Shona and David will guide you through a hockey training session, cumulating in a ‘beat the medallist’ competition.

Are you a secret striker and can find the top corners to score maximal points? Or can you reach speeds of 100kph when hitting the ball at goal? You will be competing in various challenges scoring points for yourself. Wherever you finish, you get a medal placed around your neck by a Team GB Olympian and a photo signed by the athlete capturing that once in a lifetime moment.

The session culminates in an exclusive Q and A with the hosts medal winner to pick their brains about life as a professional athlete and what really goes on at the Olympics.

Everyone goes home with exclusive event medals and signed memorabilia from the host athletes plus professional photos to give you an awesome social media timeline.

THE CHALLENGE:

Set by Double Olympians and Medallists.

You are also aiming to beat the targets set on the day by the GB Hockey Player as part of Beat the Medallist:

• The Team GB Olympian will set a points target and a maximum speed on the day
• You also get to set your totals on the day as you try and Beat The Medallist.
• Your 'impossible' task can be aided by accruing time bonuses through fundraising (see below).

SCORING POINTS:

• 10 attempts at goal. Maximum points is 200. Scoring points are available as follows; 5, 10, 20

SPEED CHALLENGE:

• Beat David with a score of >130kph
• Beat Shona with a score of > 110kph

If Fundraising for your chosen good cause you get bonuses to help

• You are aiming to beat the target set by the GB Gold Medallist.
• You can help your task by accruing time bonuses through your fundraising, (not compulsory).
• Fundraising through the Events page Buy Now Auction will reduce your entry fee by a minimum of £25 per item sold. FFI contact david@legacy300.com .
• Generate your name on the Legacy 300 Hockey Hall of Fame as well as the event 'podium'.

Wherever you finish, you get a souvenir signed an actual GB medallist and a photo signed by the athlete capturing that once in a lifetime moment.

Total entry cost:

• Maximum £90 per person. (If fundraising the entry fee can be discounted down to zero).
• Maximum numbers 40 people. There will be a pitch fee paid to your club / school if hosting or this can be deducted from the entry fee.

YOUR EXPERIENCE PACKAGE ALSO INCLUDES:

• Video Message from a GB Gold Medallist to download and play to the recipient.
• Presentation pack and letter. (Please provide name of recipient and your postal address)
• E-mailed personalised vouchers and itineraries in the name of the participants.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

• If either Shona or David cannot attend, they will be replaced by members of the Women's Rio 2016 / Commonwealths 2022 and Men's squads..
