WE COME BACK FOR OUR ELEVENTH YEAR OF CHARITY DAYS
After TEN years of amazing experiences at Henley on Thames, these experiences are proving ever popular.
This is Rowing's easiest but impossible challenge to Beat The Medallist.
Fundraise £270 for your chosen good cause with the GB Athletes Crowdfunding £1m Push to Paris and you Row for free (entry fee discounted £1 for every £3 pledged). See below.
THE EXPERIENCE: VIP ROWING DAY:
As part of a group no more than 18 people per session you will meet at a boat club in Henley where you will be welcomed by the GB Rowers who through the entertaining Q and A, will debrief recent competition look forward to Paris and give you an insight what it takes to reach the highest levels in the sport of rowing.
You will then be introduced to life as an elite rower. If required, initial coaching will be done on the rowing machines where advice on techniques will be given. Then to the boat shed where the boat familiarisation will take place.
Quadruple sculls will take to the water complete with a GB Rower in each boat and each boat crew will have a short RELAXING training session on the water followed by rows down the famous stretch of water including a timed sprint, with a GB Rower.Of course, if you lose you can blame them.
THE BEAT THE MEDALLIST CHALLENGE
Before the Q and A the rowers will take to the water and do a 250 metre timed sprint. This unique challenge pits your boat against the attending GB Rowers who will be laying down a target time over 250 metres but don't worry your boat of three will have one of the GB Rowers to help you beat the time on your timed sprints as part of your 40 minutes on the water.
This experience is great with two rowing buddies...so please ask around.
IF FUNDRAISING: £270 GENERATES A FREE PLACE FOR YOU.
Using the GB Athletes annual Crowd Funding campaign (see below) your boat generates time bonuses to help beat the time set on the day by the GB Rowers as part of Beat the Medallist Challenge Series.
The GB Medallists will set a time on the day.
Your boat also gets to set times on the day as part of this experience day.
Your 'impossible' task is aided by accruing time bonuses through fundraising support from your friends and family.
This not compulsory but it will be an awesome achievement if you choose to do this.
Throughout the experience the chance to talk all things Olympic with the athletes and if already a keen rower drain them for tips and advice. Additional guests are welcome to watch proceedings throughout the day and to attend the Q and A and photo session with the rowers.

THE £1M PUSH TO PARIS CROWDFUNDING PAGE
Greater returns for your charity than Just Giving type pages
The plan is to provide charities free entries so they receive BOTH entry fee and donations, which means a £5+ donation in your name lets the charity generate a much bigger return than a regular donation minus charges made by Just Giving, As these places are paid for it also helps our project add to the £570K its already raised for good causes.
How this works
We will set up an Individual or Boat of Three page with your text and images (like we did here www.crowdfunder.co.uk/libbyvsgb
£1 refund off your entry fee for every £3 donated in your name to generate free or if target not met, discounted places for your chosen good cause.
